This week, I’ve been helping to coach Cody’s pee wee football team. My job has been to help out with the offensive line. It primarily comes down to them getting into the proper stance, firing off the ball, and keeping the guy in front of them.
In the middle of tonight’s practice, I had this thought: “as a believer in Christ, my job is the same as those on the o-line.” If I don’t pray (my proper stance), then I won’t jump up and do what He asks me to do. If I don’t keep Him & His vision for my life in the forefront of my mind, then I’ll miss my assignment.
Just a thought I had while on the football field tonight.

Our a/c unit went kaput today and it’s a sauna inside. The temp inside is 82 and climbing. There’s times I like having an office in the garage and today’s definitely one of them. Last summer, we knocked a hole in the garage and put a window unit in and it works quite well.
Here’s two links that got me thinking about prayer. First up is my friend Pete’s. It wrecked me and I hope it messes with you too. We are so blessed we don’t even realize how blessed we truly are.
Second is this article in the Tennessean. Do you agree with the article?
Remember, One Prayer continues this Sunday at Elevation. Jentzen Franklin will be sharing his one prayer and you’ll definitely not want to miss this one.

If you could pray “one prayer” for your church - what would that be?
This weekend, we are going to hear from Craig the vision behind One Prayer and be challenged to pray for each of the churches that will be united during this series. As of this post, over 1,150 churches representing over 725,000 people will be participating in One Prayer. It’s so awesome for Elevation Church to have the opportunity to be part of something that is so much bigger than us.
June is definitely going to be a month to remember. We are going to hear from some of the most influential pastors in America. Don’t miss this series - it is going to rock your world!!

Yesterday, an EMT that is stationed at the firehouse next door to our home came over and chatted with me as the kids slid down the slip & slide. As we talked, he asked if I had heard about Steven Curtis Chapman’s daughter Maria passing away this past Wednesday evening. I told him yes and that I heard about it through Carlos’ blog and Pete’s. What he said next, I really wasn’t prepared to hear.
He told me that in the past few days, there had been 3 other kids that had been hit by cars. In less than a week, four families lost their child in Williamson county due to an automobile accident.
Seriously, pray for these families.
FYI: The first Christian concert ticket and CD was for SCC. I met his parents at the Final Four in Indy back in 2000. My heart goes out to them. The visitation for Maria will be today and the memorial service will be on Saturday. - Link

Alicia and I just returned from an overnight camping trip to Fall Creek Falls State Park. I’m beat, but couldn’t help share the big announcement that came from LifeChurch.tv today. In case you missed it, check out this link.
As a LifeChurch.tv Network Church, of course we’ll be joining with the thousands for this. More details from me will be coming soon.
May God make us One!
