So our church meets about 100′ from a pub. I’ve been in Gary’s Place a few times to hang out with Gary and meet people. Gary is the person that recommended our guitarist to come and play for us. He’s just a great all around guy that I like to chat with. In July, Gary’s Place and Elevation Church is partnering together for an event that we hope will be awesome. I’ll share more about that when I return from our family’s camping trip.
There’s been lots of discussion in the blogosphere lately about christians drinking beer, churches meeting in bars, does Jesus belong in a pub, would jesus have a beer with me, and many many others. The list of sites discussing this issue is huge. I have huge respect for each person I linked to because they’re bringing this subject out in the open.
What’s your thoughts on the subject? I’d love to hear them.

Jesus’ first miracle was turning water to wine. Having a drink or 2 is fine, that being said, we are not supposed to be raging alcoholics who can’t control ourselves. We are supposed to lead by example…just my 2 cents. Adios.

Well… I think it’s going to be different… for different people. If you knew anything about genetic predisposition… you might want to gauge by that. My dad was an alcoholic. (I only say was because he’s not alive any more)… but since I’ve seen it firsthand… I say don’t. For me I’d just rather not deal with the temptation to go further.
The real question for me then is.. Are you willing to take the risk? Your body does create THIQ every time you take a drink by the way. Doesn’t matter who you are… that could catch up with you in time.
Last but not least… I’d only have one more gripe. What’s it taking the place of?… because if you are somehow putting that in front of where God should be.. then I start to have a problem with it. And making that the Lord of your life isn’t where you need to go.
Since I know you are married… we would you be willing to kiss another woman and take that chance? I know it’s a different situation.. but I would say to guard your heart for all it’s worth!
