For a while now, the kids have been coming home telling us that they heard someone say a bad work - the f word. When I press them further, they say that the word is “freak”. They’ve stepped it up lately to say that they hear someone say the “sh” word. Now, I’m getting nervous. When I ask, it’s “SHut up”. Whew.
Yesterday, Brianne said that people cuss all the time on the bus and at school. For a minute, I think it’s innocent words like the ones above. Then, at the dinner table, she said that a kid on the bus calls people names. Alicia asked what he says and Brianne says M F. I knew where it was going. There’s no way around it this time. Alicia asked what it meant and Brianne said “Mother F”. Alicia let out a yelp and thankfully Brianne didn’t say the word.
So what do you tell your 8, 7, & 5 year old about bad words?
