I like blogging. I really do. But sometimes I just like being unplugged. My 20 mile trek with Chuck taught me that. It’s easy for me to spend too much time in the virtual world instead of living in the real one. Instead of investing in people such as my family, church members, & people that matter, I can stare at a bunch of html, videos, blogs, twitter updates, and facebook stuff. So I took a break.

Here’s a quick update on what happened during my hiatus.

  • Alicia got an excellent review when she led a Weight Watchers meeting.
  • Cody turned 6. We took him to Chuck E. Cheese to celebrate.
  • Dalten conquered Guitar Hero 3 on Hard. At 7 yrs. old, He’s now trying to beat Expert.
  • Brianne sang “Our Song” by Taylor Swift at her school’s talent show. She also was a model this past Saturday in Hermitage.
  • Chuck had one of his students die in a tragic traffic accident.
  • 3 churches (including Elevation) are meeting within 1000 yards of one another.
  • We had the Snyders in church with us.
  • AJ a guy from Michigan working at the Saturn Plant, came for the first time and recommitted his life to Christ. Then, he stayed after church to help us tear down. Now that’s something!
  • We put up 2 new banners at church. I’ll post a pic soon of what it now looks like.
  • My friend Dave in AL, had a Monster series and saw God do amazing things.

I hope you get the opportunity to take a break and enjoy life unplugged. It’s too darn nice outside not to. Hey, you can be like my buddy Pete and hike Mt LeConte.

One Response to “Back from a hiatus”

  1. I’m going to suggest not climbing the mountain. I still have to crawl up stairs.
