“Today is the day we killed Jesus.”
That blog title really hits home with me. I have screwed up in so many ways, yet Jesus died for me. How messed up is that? Yet the Bible says: “No one has greater love than this, that someone would lay down his life for his friends.” (John 15:13)
I am so grateful for all the Good Fridays and Easter Sundays. They remind me that I’ve been forgiven and been given new life in Christ. I still screw up, but I know that God still cares for me and that Jesus died for me. He’s reshaping me from the sinful life I’ve lived into the person He wants me to be.
So today, I’ve joined with my peeps from LifeChurch.tv & LifeChurch.tv Network to spend this day fasting and praying for spiritual renewal. Both in me and for Elevation Church. I’m praying that God would light a fire in our hearts to quit going through the routines of life and share God’s love with the broken and hurting. I’m praying that I will become the husband and father for my children so that the Hopson family will be one who devotes all to Him.
Happy Good Friday to you and I hope to see you this Sunday at Elevation Church.
