Last week, I surprised Alicia for our 10 year anniversary. You can read about the trip in my previous posts.
We had a number of fantastic things that happened to us. For starters, I wish everyone could have seen Alicia’s expression when I came to pick her up at work. It was the best. She had the biggest shock when she found out that she was leaving early and all her coworkers knew about it. Priceless!
Another thing was the Biltmore trip. After we toured the estate, I surprised her for dinner. The dinner was blow your mind good. I called in reservations a few days before our trip so that we could get an optimal time. In reality, we were the only ones there for about an hour. But we got the best seat in the house.
After our meal came the dessert. Since I told them it was our anniversary, they brought out this chocolate trio with Happy Anniversary written in chocolate. Really nice touch.
On Friday, we decided to head to Drexel, NC to visit our beginnings. I pastored a church in Drexel when Alicia and I got married. We drove through town (about 2 minutes) and revisited the church. Here’s the house I rented when I was still single. The couch sat in between the bedroom and living room if that tells you something.
Our trip was quick and fabulous. I know that the next 10 years will have many more stories and places to share. Thanks for enjoying the ride with us.
