I’ve heard the statement “go for broke” many times in different settings. Athletes will call each other out by saying it. Managers will also challenge their employees to give it their all and go for broke. Entrepreneurs & church planters know this statement very well.
For me, going for broke means to give up everything in my pursuit of God and for doing His work. I want to know God more and more each day. It’s like the Apostle Paul when he said “I want to know Christ and the power of His resurrection.” That’s my desire and my goal.
For Elevation Church, this also is true. I want our church to not only know Jesus, but to share His message to each and every person in Spring Hill. My dream is that our church will not only reach this community, but also invest in reaching other communities as well. Simply put, I want us to reproduce and start other churches that reach people for Christ.
Ultimately, these both come down to an investment. If I don’t invest time to spend in God’s Word, how on earth will I know Him more? If I don’t invest into my neighbors and friends, how can God’s work be accomplished through me?
At some point in all of our lives, someone invested in us. They shared the Gospel with us or brought us to church or just shared their story with us. Then, more than likely, someone else taught us how to pray or read the Bible. You see where I’m going.
So go for broke and give it all for the One who gave His all for you.
