In case you haven’t heard of Second Life, it’s a virtual online world where you can walk around and interact. In a nutshell, it’s a chat room on steroids. I first heard about Second Life when their server crashed. I think it was on Google News (which I am an addict). From there, I learned that 2nd Life was often used for sexual chats and “favors”.
Imagine my surpise to see LifeChurch.tv open a virtual campus where you can watch videos of Craig teaching and tell others about Jesus. Really cool concept. Take the church to where people are. I tested out the beta version and got hooked. Fast forward to Easter.
On Easter, LifeChurch.tv debuted their virtual campus for Easter services. They had 150 people at church on Easter. Check out these pics to see who came and a grest summary of what happened.
Two Sundays ago, I got back from church (at LifeChurch.tv-Hendersonville) and jumped on 2nd life for the remainder of the service. Here’s my snapshot at the 11:30am experience:
