If you’ve ever tried to surprise someone, you’ll relate to my situation. My wife, Alicia lets me plan our trips because I need flexability. I don’t take a vacation to be tied to a schedule.

That being said, I scheduled a few things this time. I called Senator Lamar Alexander’s office and scheduled a White House and US Capital tour. I also scheduled a tour of the National Cathedral. Once booked, I became so excited that I almost spoiled the surprise. How do you handle surprises and what tips do you have for the rest of us?

BTW, Alicia loved the tour of the Capital. We will take the White House tour tomorrow. When I figure out how to post my pics to Flickr using my Treo, I’ll give you the link.
